How to Perform Umrah during Eid ul Fitr Holidays? Guide for All
If you are living in the UK, you can book Umrah packages UK on this special Eid and make your journey blessed. Well, you also need to learn the guide. Ready to know how to perform Umrah? There are some steps to perform Umrah. I am going to share a step-by-step guide!
Do you know an amazing fact?
Shaykh Ibn `Uthaymin (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
“Doing ghusl when entering Ihram is Sunnah. The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) took off his regular clothes and did ghusl for entering Ihram.
Note: It’s recommended to trim nails and remove excess hair.
Entering the State of Ihram
Ihram is mandatory for men. It consists of two pieces of clothing: one to wrap around the waist and the other to cover the upper body. Wearing a hat or turban is not allowed. If you are travelling via plane, make sure to wear Ihram at the airport before you leave. In comparison, women can carry loose dresses or abayas.
You should offer 2 Rakahs Salah before you enter into the Ihram state.
Make the Intention (Niyyah) for Umrah
If you are coming from the UK, Miqqat passes before you land. Miqaat is the place where believers make Niyyah for Umrah. Make Niyyah by reciting it:
لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ عُمْرَةً
Labbayka Allahumma Umratan
Translation: Here I am O Allah making Umrah.
Recite the Talbiyyah
After that, start reciting Talbiyyah from this point onward. Men should recite it loudly, while women should recite it in a low voice.
Labbayka Allahumma Labbayk, Labbayka La Sharika Laka Labbayk, Inna al-Hamda wa-N’imata Laka Wa-l-Mulk, La Sharika Laka
Translation: At Your service, Allah, at Your service. At Your service, You have no partner, at Your service. Truly all praise, favour and sovereignty are Yours. You have no partner.
Upon Entering the Masjid al Haram
From where should you enter? It is highly recommended that you enter the Masjid al Haram from the Baba Salam. Follow the Sunnah and enter with the right foot. Recite the following Dua:
اَللَّهُاَللَّهُمَّ هَذَا حَرَمُكَ وَأَمْنُكَ فَحَرِّمْنِي عَلَى النَّارِ، وَأَمِنِّي مِنْ عَذَابِكَ يَوْمَ تَبْعَثُ عِبَادَكَ، وَاجْعَلْنِي مِنْ أَوْلِيَائِكَ وَأَهْلِ طَاعَتِكَ
Allāhumma, hādhā ḥaramuka wa amnuka faḥarrimnī ‘alā-n-nār, wa aminnī min ‘adhābika yawma tab’athu ‘ibādaka, wa j’alnī min awliyā’ika wa ahli ṭā’atik
Translation: Allah, this is Your sanctuary and security, so make me unlawful to Hell-Fire, make me safe from Your punishment on the day You resurrect Your servants, and make me one of Your friends and one of the people who obey You.
When believers see the Khana Kaba, they should make Dua. Remember, at the house of Allah, Duas are accepted. When you see the Holy Khana Kaba, recite the below Duas:
اَللَّهُمَّ زِدْ أَهْلَ هَذَا الْبَيْتَ تَشْرِيفاً وَتَعْظِيماً وَتَكْرِيماً وَمَهَابَةً، وَزِدْ مَنْ شَرَّفَهُ وَكَرَّمَهُ مِمَّنْ حَجَّهُ أَوْ اعْتَمَرَهُ تَشْرِيفاً وَتَكْرِيماً وَتَعْظِيماً وَبِرّاً
Allāhumma zid hādhā-l-Bayta tashrīfan wa ta’ẓīman wa takrīman wa mahābah, wa zid man sharrafahu wa karramahu mimman ḥajjahu awi-’tamarahu tashrīfan wa takrīman wa ta’ẓīman wa birrā.
Translation: Allah, increase this House in honour, esteem, respect and reverence. And increase those who honour and respect it—of those who perform Hajj or ‘Umrah—in honour, respect, esteem and piety.
Allāhumma Anta-s-Salāmu wa minka-s-salām, ḥayyinā Rabbanā bi-s-salām
Translation: O Allah, You are Peace and from You is peace. Make us live, Lord, in peace.
Engage in Dhikr, Duas, and abundantly send Salawat upon the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
Tawaf (Circumambulation of the Kaaba)
Make wudu before you go to perform Tawaf. Don’t forget to make Niyyah that you will perform Umrah for the sake of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala.
If you can touch the Hajar al-Aswad, recite Allahu Akbar, kiss it, and place your forehead upon Istilam. This should be repeated at the start of each round of Tawaf. If you can’t touch Hajar al-Aswad, perform symbolic Istilam by facing it, raising your hands, ensuring your palms face it, and saying Allahu Akbar.
Make sure to start your Tawaf from the black stone (Hajar al-Aswad), with Khana Kaba on your left side, and complete a total of seven circuits.
In the first three rounds, men should perform Raml if they are sure they can easily perform this Sunnah without disturbing the others.
Note: However, this practice does not apply to women.
While passing from the Yemeni corner of the Khana Kaba, you should touch it with your hand if you get the chance.
Recite this between the Yemeni corner and the black stone (Hajar al-Aswad).
Rabbanā ātinā fi d-dunyā ḥasanatan wafi l-ākhirati ḥasanatan wa qinā ‘adhāba n-nār
Translation: O our Lord, grant us the good of this world, the good of the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the fire.
Complete Tawaf continuously without interruptions.
If prayer starts, join the congregation and resume Tawaf from where you stopped; there is no need to repeat the round circle. The same rules apply if you need to renew your Wudhu.
Make pure Duas during the performance of Tawaf.
Upon Completing Tawaf
Once you are done with the Tawaf, move towards Maqam Ibrahim and recite this:
وَاتَّخِذُوا مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى
Wattakhidhu min maqāmi Ibrāhīma muṣalla
Translation: And take the Maqam Ibrahim as a place of Salah.
Must offer two Ra’akah between the Maqam Ibrahim and the Khana Kaba.
Drink Zamzam water. You can make an intention whatever you want while drinking the Zamzam water.
After drinking Zamzam, you may visit Multazam and make supplications. If you can’t reach Multazam, face it from a distance and supplicate.
Returning to Hajar al-Aswad from Maqam Ibrahim for Istilam is Sunnah if possible.
Sa’i (Walking Between Safa and Marwah)
In this step, believers walk seven times between the hills of Safa and Marwah. It is a remembrance of the story of Hazrat Hjajrah (AS). Recite the following:
Inna ṣ-ṣafā wa l-marwata min sha’ā’iri llāh(i)
Translation: Indeed, Safa and Marwa are from the Signs of Allah.
Followed by:
Abda’u bimā bad’allahu bihi.
Translation: I begin with that which Allah has begun with.
At Safa, face the Kaaba, raise hands in supplication, say Takbir (Allāhu akbar), Tahlil (lā ilāha illā Allāh), and send Salawat on the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Recite this Dua as it is a Sunnah practice:
اَللّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ، اَللّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ، اَللّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ، وَلِلّٰهِ الْحَمْدُ
Allāhu akbar, Allāhu akbar, Allāhu akbar, wa lillāhi l-ḥamd
Translation: Allah is the greatest; Allah is the greatest; Allah is the greatest, and to Allah belongs all praise.
Lā ilāha illallāh waḥdahu lā sharīka lah(u), lahu l-mulku wa lahu l-ḥamdu yuḥyī wa yumīt(u), wa huwa ‘alā kulli shay’in qadīr
Translation: There is no deity except Allah, alone without a partner. To Him belongs the Dominion, and to Him belongs all praise. He gives life and death, and He has power over everything.
Lā ilāha illallāhu waḥdah(u), anjaza wa’dahu wa naṣara ‘abdahu wa hazama l-aḥzāba waḥdah.
Translation: There is no deity except Allah alone. He fulfilled His promise, supported His slave and defeated the confederates alone.
Recite this Dua three times, adding your own supplications in between, as per the Sunnah.
Walk to Marwa; men should run between green lights. On reaching Marwa, repeat the Safa procedure—this completes one round circle.
Note: During Sa’i, women should walk and not run.
Come back to Safa and repeat the same process you did at Safa, making two complete round circles.
Pilgrims complete seven rounds between the hills of Safa and Marwa, noting that the last round ends on Marwa.
Halq or Taqsir (Shaving or Trimming Hair)
Men should shave (halq) or trim (taqsir) their hair. Women should trim a small portion of their hair.
Mubarak! Your Umrah is complete.
May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala accept it and shower you with endless blessings!
