The blessed month of 12 Rabi ul Awal is coming soon. This is the most significant time for the Muslim Ummah. So, why not make this month more special and memorable? It is the third Islamic month in which our beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, was born in Makkah Al-Mukarrama in 570 CE on Monday, at the time of dawn. But different opinions come on the exact birth date. Some say that He was born on the 9th of Rabi al-Awwal, while others say He was born on the 12th of Rabi al-Awwal. Regardless, this beautiful month holds deep significance, we can make this and all the coming Rabi al Awwal perfect by following the Sunnah of the Prophet (S.A.W) for example, by taking care of orphans.
“I and the one who cares for an orphan will be together in Paradise like this” and he (S.A.W) held his two fingers together to illustrate.” Hadith | Sahih al-Bukhari
This beautiful Hadith reflects the immense significance of caring for others. How much value is held this month, we can take ideas from this verse. As it is mentioned in the Quran Pak:
“It was only as a mercy that We sent you (Prophet) to all people.” (Qur’an, 21:107)
This is a great time to remember how Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) played a great role in Islamic history. This is also the month in which our beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, met his Creator.
Rabi ul Awal – What it Truly Means
We are blessed that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala has sent Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) to us. Our Prophet Hazrat Muhammad’s (S.A.W) birth is an indication to bring humans from dark to light. Do you know the meaning of the month in which our Prophet (S.A.W) was born? If not! No problem, I am here to tell you, continue to read the blog.
“Rabi ul Awal” means “The First Spring,” with “rabi” for spring and “ul awal” for first in Arabic.
Rab al-Awwal: The Commencement of the Most Sacred Time
This year, it is observed that the month of Rabi al-Awwal will start on the 4th or 5th of September, depending upon the moon. The 12th of Rabi ul Awal is observed on the 15th or 16th of September.
In many countries, Muslims celebrate the 12 Rabi al-Awwal, as the birthday of the Holy Prophet (PHUH). They celebrate this special day heartedly.
While in other countries, Muslims do not celebrate this event, the reason is that neither our Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) nor His Companions ever celebrated this day.

“Innal laaha wa malaaa’i katahoo yusalloona ‘alan Nabiyy; yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanoo salloo ‘alaihi wa sallimoo tasleemaa.”
Translation:
“Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet: O ye that believe! Send ye blessings on him, and salute him with all respect.”
